September and October 1777: The Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was the most important win out of all the others for the American soldiers.
This battle started at the Battle of New York, which is nine miles south of Saratoga. The British entered their continental army and won this battle with the consequence of suffering several casualties. While the British were getting ready and trying to rest up for the next battle, the American soldiers took their spots and surrounded the British. With this tactic the Americans crushed the British! Later, on October 17, 1777, the British had to surrender to the Americans at Saratoga due to the limited number of soldiers.
This was the most important battle number one, because it was the whole turning point in the Revolutionary War; this started the American winning streak. Dealing with the British soldiers, in the battle of New York, they greatly reduced the number of soldiers they had which gave the Americans a better advantage and strengthened the northern continental army. Last but not least, this is the war that got the French involved who allied with the Americans and helped them defeat the British for their freedom. This alliance helped America greatly as well because the French supplied a lot of the resources they needed in order to win. The French also helped spread further and further out and gave the Americans more soldiers, and the British just couldn't contend with them because they didn't have enough soldiers to spread out as far and they would always get surrounded.
This was the great Battle of Saratoga and how the Americans won it by surrender of the British.
