The Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1783. The Treaty ended the Revolutionary War between Great Britain and the United States. This treaty was signed at the Hotel d'York, it was signed by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay from the Unites States. From the British Parliament member David Hartley, who was representing the British Monarch. Also on September 3, Great Britain also signed different arrangement's with France and Spain. On January 14, 1784, The American Congress ratified the Treaty of Paris.
There were ten main points in the Treaty of Paris. The first main points in the Treaty of Paris is stating that the United States is a free, and independent country, and the British Crown, all heirs, and successors give up claim to the Government and property. The second main point is establishing the boundaries between the British and the United States. the third point of the treaty is about granting fishing rights to the United States. The forth point is recognizing the lawful contract debt to be paid. The firth main point is the Congress of the Confederation will strongly recommend to recognize the owner of all the lands. The sixth point will limit confiscation of land owned by the Loyalist. The seventh point is releasing the Prisoners of wars on both sides.
The eighth main point of the treaty is that Britain and the United States were given access to the Mississippi River. This was helpful because they could transport things easier than making them go by horse and buggie. The ninth main point of the treaty was all the land that the Americans conquered had to be returned to the British without compensation. The Americans were angered by this because they fought hard for this land they earned and they just have to give it all back; they said it wasn't fair. The last main point of the Treaty of Paris is the ratification of the treaty had to happen within six months of the signing. This point had to happen or the treaty wouldn't be considered "official" by the parties of this treaty.
